Busy GF Intersections to be Temporary Four-Way Stops

Some Grand Forks intersections will be getting busier over the next month, as the traffic lights will be temporarily powered down for upgrades.

Some of Grand Forks' busiest intersections will be controlled by stop signs instead of traffic lights.

The city is working to upgrade its traffic signal system. During this time signals may have to be temporarily powered down for a short time. They will be replaced with four-way stop signs.

The work will affect about 40 intersections and is expected to be complete over the next 30 days.

The project will complete the signal coordination system for Washington Street, DeMers Avenue, Gateway Drive, Columbia Road and 42nd Street.
