Park Board Approves New Wellness Center To Be Built

Grand Forks Park District officially voted to build the new "Choice Wellness Center."

In a special five minute meeting Tuesday at Eagles Crest Grill, the Grand Forks Parks Board unanimously voted to build the wellness center.

The motion stated that it could not be bigger than 158,100 square feet and it depends on funding if they will be able to make it that original size.

The board says they still have a lot to work on,but now they can start receiving bids.

"We still have a lot of design things, some things we can look at interest rate wise are bonding things. It's not going to be put to bed tonight, let's put it that way," said Park Board vice president Jay Panzer said.

An official groundbreaking will be October 21st at 3 pm and construction will start in May of next year.
