FARGO, N.D. (AP) - Warm weather over the past week has helped durum wheat farmers in North Dakota but hampered the sugar beet harvest.

The Agriculture Department says in its weekly crop and weather report that the durum harvest is wrapping up, and the corn-for-grain and sunflower harvests are under way.

Despite the problematic heat, sugar beet farmers have lifted 61 percent of the crop, ahead of the average pace of 52 percent.

Pasture and range conditions in North Dakota are rated 65 percent good to excellent, and stockwater supplies are 70 percent adequate to surplus.
