FARGO – The Fargo Fire Department is seeking information from witnesses to help with the investigation of Monday night’s fire at the Galleria On 42nd apartment complex.

Fire investigators believe the fire originated on the deck of a first-floor apartment on the west side of the complex.

Anyone who witnessed unusual activities in that area or saw anyone smoking in that area prior to the fire is asked to call the Fargo Fire Department at (701) 241-8135.

The department also is seeking early photos of the fire to help with the investigation, said Inspector John Arens.

Firefighters have turned over the building to the property management company Investors Management & Marketing.

An insurance adjustor is on site today, said Dan Hollwegner, the Minot, N.D., company’s vice president of operations.

The area is being monitored by a private security firm, and a fence will be used to secure the area, Hollwegner said.
