Phoenix Elementary Wins Award for Healthy Eating
The school is the first to receive the Gold of Distinction Award. The award is for a determination to end child obesity.
Phoenix Elementary School in Grand Forks has been given an award for its healthy eating.
The school is the first to receive the Gold of Distinction Award.
The award is for a determination to end child obesity.
Phoenix was awarded because of its variety healthy choice foods.
"It's wonderful because that means that other states, not just in North Dakota, that other parts of the country can look to what you guys are doing here as a model for healthy eating and physical activity," Lisa Pino of the Nutrition Assistance Program said.
In addition to the national recognition, Phoenix Elementary will receive $2,000.
