BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - New federal disclosure reports show Republican U.S. Senate candidate John Hoeven with a huge money advantage over Democrat Tracy Potter.
Hoeven's report shows he has raised $3.1 million since he entered the race in January. Potter's report shows almost $109,000 in contributions since he started his campaign.
Hoeven and Potter are competing for the Senate seat now held by Democrat Byron Dorgan, who isn't running for re-election. Hoeven has a big lead in public opinion polls.
The reports say Hoeven raised almost $700,000 from July through September. Potter raised about $28,000 during the same period.
Hoeven has spent almost $2.2 million on the campaign, while Potter has spent about $70,000.
