The Salvation Army Is Looking For Volunteers

A new website allows volunteers to sign up for two hour time slots.

The Salvation Army is looking for bell ringers a little early this year.

Organizers say they have already had people calling about volunteering this year.

A new website allows volunteers to sign up for two hour slots instead of the usual four hour time frame.

Although there are paid positions, volunteers are much needed too.

"This year we are really pushing for volunteers. We got out the word early, trying to raise more awareness about volunteering and doing a good deed not just for the Christmas season but starting at least in the Christmas season." Coordinator Katie Dachtler said.

Last year the Salvation Army raised almost 230-thousand dollars in Grand Forks. Bell ringing kicks off on November 19th.
