Grand Forks Couple Celebrates 75 YearsHumor, Honesty and Communication is what has kept one couple together for 75 years. A celebration in Grand Forks has friends and family remembering just that. A little love goes a long way.
"I feel like I want to cry all the time. Just happiness." Irene Lindemoen said.
Al and Irene Lindemoen have been married since 1935.
"She was a farm girl and I was working in the county. I took her sister out one time and then I married her." Al said.
The Lindemoen's have five children who have spent more than 6 months planning this 75th anniversary party, showing their parents how much they mean to them.
"Seeing them always happy. The family always being together and getting together. When they did everybody had a joke and everybody was laughing. Good times and a big family. That was important to them." son Dennis Lindemoen said.
Being together for all these has only made the Lindemoen's marriage stronger and they still keep a sense of humor.
"He puts up with me," Irene said.
"You gotta stick together, you gotta be a team. And that's what they've been." Dennis said.
