Bail Set At $1 Million for Pembina Murder Suspect

Bail has been set for a man suspected of murdering a Walhalla teenager.

A Pembina man is facing charges, including murder, after authorities say he killed a Walhalla teenager.

24-year-old Miguel Medina-Romero made his first court appearance Monday.

Bond was set at $1 million cash.

Authorities say Medina-Romero shot and killed 19-year-old Bryon Kalis outside a house in Pembina on Saturday night.

Authorities say it was actually Medina-Romero who called 911 about the shooting.

Medina-Romero faces a maximum penalty of life in prison without parole.

Medina-Romero also faces felony drug charges after the Pembina County Sheriff's Department says officers found 10 to 12 marijuana plants in his home.

Medina-Romero is being held at the Pembina County Jail.
