GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — A Minnesota man has been sentenced to serve 2 ½ years in prison and three years on probation in a North Dakota stabbing.
Twenty-year-old Trevor Zahradka of East Grand Forks initially was charged with attempted murder but pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of aggravated assault in a deal with prosecutors. The Grand Forks Herald reports that he also must undergo a substance-abuse evaluation.
Zahradka was accused of stabbing 32-year-old Clarence Clauthier four times in his back and side outside a Grand Forks apartment building in June. Police say the men knew one another.
