FARGO, N.D. (AP) — The coach who took the North Dakota State University women's volleyball team to its first NCAA Division I tournament has resigned.
Erich Hinterstocker cites personal reasons for his decision.
Hinterstocker was in his fifth season and had a 95-38 record. He led the Bison to three straight 20-win seasons, Summit League championships in 2008 and 2009, and the Division I tournament in 2008.
NDSU says assistant coach Kari Thompson will assume head coach responsibilities the rest of the season.
