MN Fire Marshal Offers Reward for Arson Information

The Minnesota State Fire Marshal is asking for information regarding three arson fires that were set in vacant houses around Polk County.

The Minnesota State Fire Marshal is offering rewards for information regarding three fires that were set Monday in Polk County.

The Fire Marshal says that although the fires were set in vacant houses, they were a significant danger to public safety. The fires also cost the Mentor and Fertile fire departments several hours.

Early on the morning of Monday, October 18, the two fire departments and the Polk County Sheriff's Department responded to the fires between Mentor and Fertile. The fires were set between the hours of 4:30 and 7 a.m. and have been determined to be arson.

Anyone with information about the first is asked to call the Minnesota Arson Hotline at 1-800-723-2020. Callers can remain anonymous.
