The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a semi truck rolled over on its side near Petersburg Tuesday.
58-year-old Douglas Geromans was driving from Minnesota to Minot when his truck rolled over. The highway patrol says it was due to extreme winds. The truck and trailer are both destroyed. Geromans has a minor injury to his ankle and had his neck looked at. He was taken to Altru by the Michigan Ambulance, and has since been released.
Other truck drivers in the area said tall trucks in the region are fighting the extreme winds.
Driver Mike Eidenschink said he knows other drivers who are waiting out the storm.
Most truck drivers do not have this option because of their schedules and harsh weather is not good for business.
"If you don't make your loads if you don't make the miles, you don't make any money is the thing unfortunately," said Eidenschink.
Eidenschink back from his second trip to Fargo today.
He and a lot of other drivers are having to make that trip to pick up diesel fuel because of the shortage in other areas.
