In one week, a much-talked about hotel in Crookston will meet the wrecking ball.
Polk County Coordinator John Schmalenberg says they'll begin traffic control around the Wayne Hotel on Monday.
Second Street in Crookston will be blocked off as well as a few lanes on South Main Street.
Schmalenberg says they'll get surrounding buildings ready for the demolition by mid-week. He isn't sure when exactly they'll start the tear-down.
Recently a non-profit group, Prairie Skyline, along with the Minnesota Preservation Alliance tried to stall demolition of the 120-year-old building with a restraining order.
A judge denied it.
