Student Government at the University of North Dakota is encouraging students to vote and Wednesday they got some help from a pretty recognizable face.

Congressman Earl Pomeroy spent some time in the student union reminding students that their vote counts.

At a rally sponsored by the University Democrats, Pomeroy talked about student issues like tuition and continuing education. He says getting face-time with younger voters is helping his campaign as election day gets closer. He and his opponent, Republican challenger Rick Berg are very close according to new polling. A poll from Washington newspaper, the Hill, says Pomeroy is one point ahead of Berg. Pomeroy says he's going to keep pushing up until the last vote is cast.

"I'm just going to keep scratching and clawing and everything I can think of until election day. This is a wide open contest and I'm working as hard as I can!" Pomeroy said.

To hear more from Pomeroy and from student voters, tune in to WDAZ News at ten this evening.
