Threatening Note Found at Devils Lake High School a PrankSchool officials say a student came forward and confessed to writing the note, which was a prank. About 100 students were absent from school Wednesday.
A student has confessed to leaving a threatening note on the grounds of Devils Lake High School.
Superintendent Steve Swiontek told WDAZ that the note was found Tuesday afternoon and parents were notified by the district's messaging system.
Swiontek says he wanted to make sure parents knew about the note so they could make a decision as to whether they wanted to allow their students to attend school Wednesday.
About 100 students were absent Wednesday from Devils Lake High School.
On a normal day, that number is between 20 and 30 students.
Swiontek says that a student confessed to writing the note and that it was a prank. The juvenile has been handed over to the Devils Lake Police Department.
Swiontek says there will likely be school-related punishments to go along with the others the student may receive.
