Bingo players can now put down their dobbers and pick up a console and play electronic bingo. It's the newest game offered by North Dakota's charitable gambling sites.

"You can come in here and play blackjack, the wheel, pull tabs, bingo, it's just one more form of entertainment. Another option, something else to do," Prairie Public Gaming Manager Karen Haugen said.

Haugen says they've placed the electronic bingo machines in several places across the state, including two Grand Forks bars. The state gave its approval to allow e-bingo for a 6-month trial period. Players load a pre-determined amount of money onto the machines and then have different gambling options.

"Six different games, they can play four cards, six cards, two cards, one card. Anywhere from a quarter to a $2 bet," Haugen said.

Since Prairie Public began the e-bingo trial six weeks ago, it's been a winner.

"Paper friendly is one of them. Lets go green. And it makes it much easier. We don't have to store any inventory paper. We don't have dobbers. they get to sit here and play on a machine," Haugen said.
