MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Republican Party of Minnesota says it wants the secretary of state's office to take immediate action after the party received complaints about failing tabulation machines at polling places around the state.

But the secretary and some local election officials say they haven't received reports or the issues are minor and have been corrected.

The GOP says there have been complaints about machines in Plymouth, Inver Grove Heights, Faribault, Burnsville, Eagan, Mendota Heights and Lakeville.

Melissa Rheaume, deputy clerk for Inver Grove Heights, says the report of problems in the city's Precinct 4 was "incorrect."

Secretary of State spokesman John Aiken says the office received some complaints, but the problem doesn't appear worse than in most years.
