BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Democratic U.S. Rep. Earl Pomeroy and Republican challenger Rick Berg are neck and neck in early returns Tuesday for North Dakota's only U.S. House seat.

With 6 percent of precincts reporting, Pomeroy had an 11-vote lead in unofficial returns, out of almost 12,000 votes cast.

Pomeroy is seeking his 10th House term. Berg is running his first statewide campaign. If he wins, he'll be the first Republican in 30 years to hold North Dakota's U.S. House seat.
