FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Democratic U.S. Sen. Kent Conrad says he's "deeply disappointed" with the results Tuesday of congressional races in North Dakota.
Republican Rick Berg unseated longtime incumbent Democrat Earl Pomeroy in the race for the state's lone seat in the U.S. House.
Republican Gov. John Hoeven easily defeated Democrat Tracy Potter to fill the Senate seat now held by retiring Democrat Byron Dorgan.
Conrad says he feels fortunate to have worked every day for nearly two decades with his "two best friends — Byron and Earl." He refers to the three of them as "Team North Dakota."
Conrad says he intends to work with Hoeven and Berg "for a prosperous future."
