WASHINGTON - Three North Dakota cities recorded the lowest
unemployment rates in the nation in September.
The Labor Department says Bismarck was at 2.8 percent, Fargo at
3.3 percent and Grand Forks at 3.5 percent.
Unemployment fell in more than 85 percent of the nation's
largest metropolitan areas in September, a sharp improvement from
the previous month.
The Labor Department says the jobless rate dropped in 321 of the
country's 372 metro areas, while remaining the same in 20 and
rising in 31.
The metro employment data isn't adjusted to take into account
seasonal trends, so it's volatile from month to month.
