Seven students, staff and community members were recognized Wednesday for their outstanding work.
The UND center for Community Engagement is recognizing those who lead the way in working with the community. This is the 5th annual Stone Soup awards luncheon put on by the center of community engagement.
Some of those given awards include Grand Forks Public Schools and Larrie Wanberg, who's helped students do research on their heritages. The Center is always looking for new ways to engage the community.
"Well that's our theme stone soup if we all contribute to it we have enough for everyone, it benefits everyone. So its all about contributing and everyone contributing what ever they can," said Dr. Lana Rakow, Center of Community Engagement Director.
Grand Forks Mayor Mike Brown and UND First Lady Marcia Kelley served soup to today's guests.
