Fort Berthold, ND Man Faces 6 Federal Charges

MINOT, N.D. (AP) — A Fort Berthold man has been indicted in federal court on assault and weapons charges.
Henry Smith is charged with six counts, including assault with a dangerous weapon, use of a firearm during a crime of violence and assaulting and resisting a federal officer. He has pleaded not guilty.
Smith is accused of attacking a man with a .12-gauge shotgun and assaulting three officers from the Three Affiliated Tribes. He's also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Trial is set for Jan. 18 in Minot.
