Bond has been set at $2 million dollars for a Beltrami county woman accused of shooting her common law husband.
25 year old Betsy Hanks has been charged with second degree intentional murder.
Authorities say she shot Matthew Albert in the head last week in his home. It was Hanks who called authorities Tuesday morning that Albert was suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Albert was alive but unconscious and flown to Minneapolis for treatment. He never regained consciousness and died Thursday. His body was transported to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s office for autopsy.
Hanks led officers to a missing handgun in the case and was arrested.
She will be back in court next month.
