Ex-Art Fest Organizer Pleads Not Guilty to Theft Charge
The former organizer of the Grand Cities Art Fest, accused of embezzling more than $30,000 from a nonprofit group, has pled not guilty. 38-year-old Laurel Bartlett is charged with felony theft.
The former organizer of the Grand Cities Art Fest, accused of embezzling more than $30,000 from a nonprofit group, has pled not guilty.
38-year-old Laurel Bartlett is charged with felony theft.
Bartlett was the executive director of the Downtown Leadership Group, which used to manage Art Fest.
She was fired in March 2008 after the group's board discovered money was missing from the group's bank account.
Bartlett faces up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine if convicted.
She'll be back in court on December 16th.
