DENVER (AP) — Injured University of Denver hockey player Jesse Martin is recovering at Colorado's Craig Hospital, which specialized in traumatic spine injuries.

He arrived at the hospital Monday after surgery at a hospital in Minneapolis and is set to speak to reporters Tuesday afternoon.

Martin, a senior from Edmonton, Alberta, broke his neck in a game against North Dakota on Oct. 30. North Dakota's Brad Malone's shoulder rammed into Martin's head as the Pioneers center glanced up the rink to make a pass out of his zone.

Last week, Martin took his first steps since he was injured.
