Volunteers and organizers met in the Hugo's parking lot on South Columbia tonight to get things started.
Last year through bell ringing, the Salvation Army raised more than 130-thousand dollars for people in need.
This year their goal is a little higher.
"Through the ringing of the bell we'll be out everyday between now and christmas eve and as people respond to us the funds will come in. We anticipate reaching that ambitious goal of 150-thousand dollars." Major Harold Baugh said.
The salvation army is always looking for bell ringers.
