City crews repair sinkhole
Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - A sinkhole is causing a headache for drivers looking for an easy way over the interstate.
Traffic from 7th Avenue North and the I-29 bridge is being diverted to Main Avenue to repair the hole a Fargo Police Officer discovered.
From the looks of it, the sinkhole seems to be a deep problem. But drivers should be back on the road by tomorrow. It's an easy fix. DOT crews are filling in the hole, and city workers will finish the job by tomorrow. The hole's actually pretty big, two feet deep by three feet wide. Officials say this sort of thing, is just natural wear and tear.
Troy Gilbertson – ND DOT: "With all the water from the spring, water washes out the cavities and makes the area weak...."
It's a temporary repair, tiding things over until a full renovation next year.
