The Fisher American Legion was burglarized over the weekend, one night after a fundraiser was held to raise thousands for the local families of deployed military members.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office says the burglary happened in early Sunday morning. The burglary was discovered that morning.

Saturday night, the Toys For Troops Comedy Tour featuring Scott Hansen and the Stagebenders had performed at the Fisher Legion. Money from ticket sales goes to local families that have a family member deployed over Christmas. People could also donate toys for the cause. Authorities would not say how much money was stolen in the burglary, but tickets were $20.00/person. With 123 tickets sold, that amounts to $2,460- plus any additional money that may have been in the safe.

Comedian Scott Hansen says news of the burglary is "so sad" and horrible to hear about. Hansen said that it is not a question of if, but when he will bring his comedy tour back to the Fisher Legion to repeat the performance. He said the show may be rescheduled for January.
