Sights and sounds of the world of white are back.
Gary Hoeft spent his day pushing the shovel.
"This is a pretty light one. Still working with the shovel at this point. Haven't got out the snow blower yet," Hoeft, a Grand Forks resident said.
That could change in the next 24 hours as the snow continues to fall and the wind picks up. Many who were planning holiday travel did it Wednesday.
"We kind of watched it and decided if we were going to leave last night or this morning. Weather was good coming out of Bismarck this morning at about 7:30," Bismarck resident Butch Mastrud said.
Wednesday's light snow hid slippery spots as some drivers made their way to grocery stores for last-minute holiday food or to stock up before the storm.
"I see people coming in and not going to travel. Making separate options, having thanksgiving at home so they have to come out and get more stuff," Hugo's employee Gary Simonson said.
While people were taking some pre-storm precautions, this weather is pretty routine for people like Gary Hoeft, who is just trying to keep his driveway clean.
If you are heading out of town checking on road conditions and the latest forecast is a very smart thing to do, especially over the next few days.
