BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The Bismarck City Commission will return the bulk of a $100,000 federal grant intended help launch an energy technology center in the city.

The Bismarck Tribune says commissioners voted this week to return $62,000 to the U.S Commerce Department Economic Development Administration.

Officials say a study found that the Great Plains Applied Energy Technology Center is not feasible right now.

The center was meant to help the energy industry apply, store and integrate renewable technology into existing power grids.
