Sioux Beat Notre Dame 6-3

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — Jason Gregoire had two goals and an assist to lead North Dakota to a 6-3 over Notre Dame on Friday.

Both of Gregoire's goals came in the third period for the Fighting Sioux (9-5-1). They set a season-high for goals scored in a home game. Gregoire's first tally was the only power-play goal in seven attempts for North Dakota.

Mike Cichy and Corban Knight staked North Dakota to a 2-0 lead after one period. Cichy and Knight both had a goal and an assist. Evan Trupp and Chay Genoway also had goals for UND, which outshot the Fighting Irish 39-30.

The Fighting Irish (9-4-1) put 18 shots on goal in the third period, but UND goalie Aaron Dell made 17 of his 27 saves in the period.

David Gerths, Jeff Costello and Ryan Guentzel scored goals for Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish got 33 saves from Mike Johnson.
