The Alerus Center will finish the year with a 120-thousand dollar estimated deficit. They will now look to their management company Venu Works for help.

Under their contract Venu-Works must pay back the the Alerus Center what it loses at year end to zero the budget.

They've already begun putting management fees they receive from the Alerus in escrow in order to balance the center's budget.

Alerus Center director Steve Hyman says attendance especially at football games has been far less than anticipated.

Compared to this time last year attendance is down about 40-thousand people for the year.

"one of every 3 people have not shown up as they have in previous year so that is to us in terms of popcorn, parking, and pop, a 100-thousand dollar loss."

The 120-thousand dollar projection does not include the approximately 100-thousand dollar loss from the Britney Spears concert.

That has to be made up as well.

Some of the money will come from sales tax revenue money.
