High water on the Red River is forcing the chamber of commerce to cancel this year's Cats Incredible fishing tournament. Civic leaders say the water is just too high to safely get on and off the river.

The tournament brings about 5-thousand people to town every summer, including about 300 catfish hunters. The tournament was scheduled for July 29th through the 31st.

The river level is expected to be about about 26-and-a-half feet during that time. Usually this time of year it's well below 20 feet. Entrance fees will be refunded to teams that entered.
