Grand Forks Outdoor Ice Rinks Will Open Soon
You'll soon be able to do another outdoor activity in Grand Forks. The Grand Forks Park District will be opening outdoor skating rinks and warming houses on December 15th.

You'll soon be able to do another outdoor activity in Grand Forks. The Grand Forks Park District will be opening outdoor skating rinks and warming houses on December 15th.
Crews will be flooding the rinks for the next 12 days. They say the ice will be 2 to 10 inches thick, depending on the elevation of the ground.
"Once the ice is built, we'll scrape it down with a pail loader, we'll broom them and we'll put the finishing floods on right before opening day," says Rick Ziegelmann, the Parks District's Park Manager.
Ziegelmann says if it snows, the opening day for the rinks may be delayed.
