For the second straight year employees of Warroad-based Marvin Windows and Doors will not get a profit-sharing bonus.
John Kirchner with Marvin Windows and Doors tells WDAZ the company will not offer a bonus again this year. He says the continued recession in the housing market has remained a struggle for the company.
Marvin President Susan Marvin will talk to employees about the withheld bonus on Saturday, December 18. Last year they were told the bonus was being withheld to avoid layoffs. During a lawsuit in 1998 the company also didn't have profit sharing. Before that is was 1961 and 1962 when the factory burned down that the company didn't make a profit.
In 2008 the company did share $6.3 million in profits with its employees and that was even down from $13 million shared in 2007.
