The Grand Forks County Commission is thinking about raising rent for the county's parking ramp downtown.
The commission agreed Tuesday to hear feedback from those renting the spaces. They hope to raise the rent by $5 in 2011 and 2012, which will raise rent to $30 per month in 2011 and $35 in 2012.
The raise in rate will go to maintenance repairs.
"If you don't stay on top of those, costs will grow greatly and you may have to pay a lot more in the future for needed repairs that were not done as soon as we found out about it," said Ed Nierode, County Administration Director.
This is the first time the commission has raised it's rent and will hear feedback from those who rent spaces on December 21st.
