The North Dakota National Guard says soldiers from the 188th Air Defense Artillery will be home in North Dakota Wednesday night.

The Guardsmen are returning from Afghanistan and Iraq. The soldiers landed in Fort Hood, TX, on Sunday and have been undergoing the demobilization process there.

The soldiers deployed in three groups in November 2009. It was a first-of-its-kind mission for two of the three groups involved, operating a Sentinel Radar system for the first time in combat. The third group used the Rapid Aerostat Initial Deployment system in Afghanistan, according to the North Dakota National Guard.

Maj. Gen. David Sprynczynatyk, North Dakota adjutant general, Gov. Jack Dalrymple and senior North Dakota National Guard leadership are expected to greet Soldiers during some of the numerous return times. Community members are invited to join with Soldiers' families and friends in welcoming them to North Dakota.
