Drivers in the Northern Valley might find their wallets hurting this holiday travel season.

Gas prices all over the state are nearing or have gone over the $3 mark.

According to www.fuelgaugereport.com, it is $2.89 in Grand Forks, $2.87 in Fargo and $3.01 in Bismarck.

Gas prices typically go up in around the holidays.

The latest hike in price is still relatively small compared to five years ago when it was over $4 and nearing $5.

People at the pumps seem to be taking it in stride.

"When the holidays come up, gas prices go up considering everybody knows they're going to be traveling," said Katie Haugen. She said she knows it will go up every year, but, it does get hard budgeting for Christmas with high gas prices.

"I'm very, very used to it. It doesn't shock me anymore. I don't even look at the price anymore. It's kind of depressing; I just put the gas in my car, pay and leave," said UND student Brooke Waxvik.

Last year the price of regular unleaded gas in Grand Forks was $2.65.
