Snow Postpones Hockey for Gophers and Mavericks

The snowstorm has prompted the cancellation of hockey games hosted by the University of Minnesota and Minnesota State University, Mankato.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A snowstorm has prompted the cancellation of hockey games hosted by the University of Minnesota and Minnesota State University, Mankato.

The Gophers men were scheduled to host Minnesota Duluth on Saturday night. They'll play at 4 p.m. on Sunday instead. The Gophers women were also scheduled to host Ohio State on Saturday afternoon, but they'll play on Sunday as well.

The Twin Cities campus was to close at 1 p.m. on Saturday, with all events after that postponed or canceled because of the storm. The men's basketball game between the 22nd-ranked Gophers and Eastern Kentucky tipped off at noon and went on as scheduled.

The men's hockey match between Minnesota State and the University of North Dakota was also pushed back from Saturday evening to Sunday at 4 p.m.
