Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - It's been a long time in the making, but finally 4G is here. Verizon Wireless launched it's lighting fast network this morning.

It's been a long time in the making, but finally 4G is here. Verizon Wireless launched it's lighting fast network this morning.

Verizon Wireless's 4G network is the first of it's kind in the Fargo-Moorhead area, and now 4G carriers have the opportunity to download video and surf the web at almost instantaneous speeds.

Barry Stall – Store Manager Verizon Wireless: “We can get up to 24 megabits per second. So getting really close to what people are using with their cable modems at home. So it's very quick.”

With the click of a button...live TV at your fingertips. There's no doubt the 4G is the fastest network available. Verizon first launched 4G in major cities almost a year ago. The network is 10 times faster than the 3G. Songs can be dowloaded in seconds, movies in only minutes. But you don't have to be a businessman or college student to benefit from the new network.

Rick Haaland – Wants 4G Phone: “If something comes up in a social conversation, I can look it up really quick and find out all the answers I want. And I like paying Angry Birds.”

This area's 4G network stretches as far east as Hawley, and well west of Fargo.
