Grafton Man Testifies in Own Defense
A man charged in Grafton with sexually abusing a child has testified in his own defense and denied the charge.
GRAFTON, N.D. (AP) - A man charged in Grafton with sexually
abusing a child has testified in his own defense and denied the
charge.
Ciro Gomez said "no sir" twice when he was asked in court if
he abused the girl and if he did so repeatedly.
Jurors are preparing to deliberate the fate of Gomez, who is
charged with continuos sexual abuse of a child. The charge carries
a maximum penalty of life without parole.
The girl testified that she liked Gomez when he moved in with
her mother in June last year. She said the abuse started almost
immediately after that, until his arrest in January this year.
