Fargo Student Taken to Hospital After Fight

A student at Fargo's South Campus II was taken to the hospital after a school lockdown Wednesday morning. School officials say the lockdown was caused by a fight between two students inside the school.

A fight between the two students happened just after 9 am Wednesday inside a computer lab. School officials say the student who was taken to the hospital had a previous head injury from wrestling.

"That is pretty unusual that you have those two kind of unusual coincidences happening to the same student. So I think that's what caused the people involved to think we better be safe and have it looked at by a doctor," Superintendent Rick Buresh said.

The school was on lockdown for almost an hour. Officials say that's standard and there was no threat to the school and other students. They say they don't know the cause of the fight, but the two students did know each other.

The school district says, along with police, they are doing an investigation. They say they're unsure if there will be criminal charges but will take "necessary" action against the people involved.
