The Alerus Center Commission was told that they would be short $61,000 by the end of December. But they are saying that's better than what they have ended up with in previous years.
Commissioners say the lack of concerts and lower attendance at UND Football games are still problems, but activity in the convention center is making up for some that.
Next year, they are hoping to have more shows to celebrate their 10 years in Grand Forks.
"We're not focused on larger events right now, just for a lot of different reasons and for the industry and for the economy. But now we targeted more but fewer size events," said Randy Newman, Alerus Commission Chair.
The Alerus Center Commission will be electing new leadership at its January 26th meeting.
