Grand Forks is getting a new addition next month. A Christian Radio station that plans to offer more than just music.

Like its music collection, Pine to Prairie Broadcasting's Christian radio station Your-Q-FM is expanding.

"For five, six, seven years we have been praying about, really looking for guidance and the right time to put a studio in Grand Forks," Phil Ehlke, General Manager and DJ said.

On February 1st, those prayers will be answered. The two-person staff is in place to run the new studio on South Washington St. in Grand Forks.

Though the signal has been in the Grand Forks area, DJ Phil Ehlke says there will be a presence to a new audience.

"It's a message of restoration, a message of encouragement, of hope. There's a lot of people hurting," Ehlke said.

Not only is this station growing to Grand Forks, the station manager says there is opportunity to grow within Grand Forks.

The Rock and Worship Roadshow was the largest Christian concert in Grand Forks, according to Ehlke, and is a multi-band event in mid-February at the Ralph Engelstad Arena. Events like it are keeping the station's endeavors local, and making strong connections in a new city.

"There's so much going on in Grand Forks, Riverside Youth Ministry, the Rescue Mission, Campus Crusade. Radio, that's what it's designed to do. To unite the community," Elhke said.
