Grand Forks Air Force Base Schools Enrollment DecreasingNumbers show decreasing enrollment at two schools at the Grand Forks Air Force Base.
Numbers show decreasing enrollment at two schools at the Grand Forks Air Force Base.
Superintendent Larry Nybladh says at tomorrow's routine monthly enrollment report, the school board will discuss the issue.
Enrollment has dropped by 81 students, leaving total enrollment at 307 students.
Nybladh says they have to start thinking about closing one school if numbers get below 300 students.
The decrease is due to fewer personnel at the base.
According to Nybladh, the commander says that could turn around.
"He's saying hang on because with this new mission, we will likely see an increase in the number of personnel at the Grand Forks Air Force Base and therefore likely see an increase in enrollment."
Nybladh said they are not making any decisions at tomorrow's meeting; they cannot until February.
They are just sharing the enrollment numbers.
