The event, "Celebrate the Night" lets everyone celebrate with entertainment for the whole family, without alcohol.
In previous years it has been known as First Night and held in downtown Grand Forks. Organizers changed the name and location two years ago, and they have since seen bigger attendance. Last year about 1,800 people took part, and enjoyed things like live music, inflatable games and other activities.
"Celebrate the Night" spokesman Mark Landa says you can expect some heavy promotions for the event in the week prior. Landa wants everyone to be aware of one important detail.
"It's a way for people who don't want to go out to parties and the bar scene and ring in the new year and have some fun," Landa said.
Advance tickets can be bought at any Hugo's or Valley Dairy for $5.
