Friends, family gather to remember victims of car crash

Fergus Falls, MN (WDAY TV) - Countless people are coming together tonight at a vigil in Fergus Falls to honor the people involved in a tragic car accident Sunday morning.

Countless people are coming together tonight at a vigil in Fergus Falls to honor the people involved in a tragic car accident Sunday morning.

It's an accident that has affected an entire region. Eight people were involved when two cars collided on Highway 210 early Sunday. There were people from Battle Lake, Fergus Falls and Dalton. Now all those communities are coming together to pray and to remember.

The Vigil started at 8 tonight and is just now wrapping up. Hundreds shed tears, lit candles, and remembered. Those that attended ranged from family members to friends, to people in the community who just wanted to show their support. 15 year-old Skylah Oksness of Dalton died in the accident. She was a sophomore at Underwood High School. In the same car as Skylah was 18-year-old Kaylee Holte and 18 year-old Aimee Magnusson. Both are still in critical condition. 31 year-old Heath Parker was a passenger in the other vehicle and is also listed in critical condition.

Kayla Bond – Teammate and Friend: “When I met Skylah, she was a happy girl - always.”

Tanner Nygaard – Friend and Classmate: “It makes everyone think about what happened. It could be anyone. Be safe out on the roads.”

A visitation is scheduled for tomorrow at Olson Funeral Home from 4 until 7. Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Zion-Sarpsborg Free Lutheran Church in Dalton.
