MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A 15-year-old Minneapolis boy has been charged with sexually assaulting a 40-year-old woman at gunpoint in June.
Adonis Tyrone Young was 14 at the time of the assault. He was certified as an adult in court Wednesday and charged with first-degree criminal sexual assault and kidnapping.
Court records say Young told police he didn't know the woman and didn't commit the assault.
Online court records didn't list a defense attorney Friday.
According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the woman told police she was walking down a street when someone approached from behind with a gun and demanded sex.
She says the youth ordered her behind a house, put on a condom and assaulted her. Police say they recovered the condom and used the DNA to link Young to the attack.
