Shoppers Spending Less Money This Year On Gifts

Now most of you have opened presents, we thought we'd see how much you actually spent this holiday.

Now most of you have opened presents, we thought we'd see how much you actually spent this holiday. We talked with shoppers in Grand Forks.

Many say they spent less on gifts for the family this holiday season. With a bad economy, shoppers had to spread their money throughout the entire year.

Shoppers call this a money saving year.

"The simple fact is, is that you don't make as much as you used to be spending as much as you can," said Jerry Hipp from Grand Forks.

"I just wanted to keep the budget down and to save more money, you know not sure what the money budget was doing," said Carol Jones from Grand Forks.

Both those shoppers say money saved this year, can be spent on more next Christmas.
